There once was a girl named Susan Irene the most fabulous artist the world's ever seen
She lays on her back gazing up at the sky and sees dragons and faces and cows floating by
She sketches each one inside of her head and draws them with crayons before going to bed
Papa tucks her in with a song and a kiss. With an ooh and an aha and did you draw this?
"Good night little artist, Sleep tight and sweet dreams of all the adventures tomorrow will bring"
The morning light came peeking in announcing the day is about to begin
She brushed her teeth and combed her hair and slowly tiptoed down the stairs
She sits at the table with Snap, Crackle, and Pop Her breakfast friends that talked a lot
Papa packed her lunch with a PB&J and Susan Irene is off on her way
There was one grumpy teacher who was a wee bit askew and would't you know it, her name was Ms. Blue
But Miss Blue missed her mum and her sister named Jewel they lived far far away in Liverpool
Whenever Miss Blue was feeling sad, she'd brew a pot of tea it made her feel like she was home across the shining sea
"Come gather round children", Miss Blue would say "It's time for show and tell today."
The children brought trinkets and treasures galore as they sat in a circle right on the floor
Susan Irene brought a landscape to show of her most favorite place in the world to go
"Oh my" said Miss Blue "but I just have to say real artists don't make art that way"!
"Your sky is not blue and your grass is not green what were you thinking Susan Irene"?
She knew right then, she felt it right there as her magic brush fell out of her hair
She blinked her brown eyes to hold back a tear when all that she wanted was to just disappear
Before anyone could utter a sound Miss Blue's cup of tea came tumbling down
It splattered and spilled all over the place It even dropped freckles right on her face
Miss Blue turned a shade of bright crimson red from the tip of her toes to the top of her head
Susan Irene scuffled back to her seat she hung a white flag and conceded defeat
Papa's voice gently whispered into her ear "Remember your heart and let go of your fear"
So she picked up her paper now stained with tea with wild fun shapes for her eyes to see
She drew and painted till the end of the day there was so much to do, she had so much to say "
Here is a drawing from me just for you may it color your world my dear Miss Blue"
